Leading Australian Resilient Communities (LARC)

This brand-new leadership program is designed to amplify the already resilient leadership within Latrobe and Central-East Gippsland.

Delivered in partnership with the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation, this dynamic program responds to the region’s unique opportunities and is guided by best practice learning techniques.

About the Leading Australian Resilient Communities program

The LARC program will develop skills, knowledge and provide space for up to 26 diverse participants to consider possible futures for their communities and the leadership required of them. Over eight-months, participants will gather regularly to expand their understanding of regional development, the role of place-based leadership, and develop skills in strategic foresight, adaptive leadership and resilience.

There will be plenty of opportunity to engage with local and national experts giving participants access to:

  • A three-day Leadership Intensive
    • Dates: 17th, 18th & 19th October
    • Location: Wellington Shire – Sale (Venue TBC)
  • Ongoing mentoring and executive coaching
  • Support to design and deliver a community project

Who should participate?

The LARC program has been developed to build capacity for resilient adaptive leadership tailored to the unique and localised challenges faced by businesses and communities in Latrobe and Central-East Gippsland.

Participants will be drawn from the local community and can be volunteers or employees of local government, not-for-profit organisations and businesses as well as students and elected members. Places are limited. Diversity will be key to ensure we can learn from each other.

Are there any fees?

This program is funded by the Australian Government as part of the Building Resilient Regional Leaders Initiative. There is no fee to participate. Successful applicants must be available to attend all program days and be prepared to cover travel costs to and from each immersive, commit to activities between sessions including the delivery of a group project for the benefit of the region.

How do I apply?

Applications are due to open in late August. In the meantime, please express your interest via the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation web page.
