Unmasking Imposter Syndrome: Navigating Leadership Challenges in Australian Workplaces
09/05/2025This National Reconciliation Week (27 May to 3 June), Leadership Victoria joins with all Australians to reflect upon where we are at, on the journey towards Reconciliation. As Reconciliation Australia have said, it is “a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia”. This kind of learning and exploration – the kind that brings people together for shared progress on what matters – is, we believe, absolutely and squarely within the remit of purpose-driven leaders today.
As providers of leadership development, we’re proud to be in touch with so many individuals, organisations, and communities working for Reconciliation. This NRW, we want to amplify and invite you to explore with us, the theme of #NRW2025: Bridging Now to Next.
What we’re loving in this year’s NRW theme:
- Speaking to renewal through artwork: In the #NRW2025 theme artwork created by Kalkadoon woman Bree Buttenshaw, native plants − which are known for regenerating after fire and thriving through adversity − symbolise our collective strength and the possibilities of renewal. This is a time for growth, reflection, and commitment to walking together.
-
Stories of collaborative leadership: In the May Reconciliation News, you’ll find important stories of leadership, progress, and collaboration – these are stories that all leaders need to be across. These reflect First Nations people and non-Indigenous allies’ unrelenting commitment to achieving reconciliation, self-determination and justice.
-
Mobilising for change, together: From reflecting on 25 years since Corroborree 2020, to new learning resources for education, to growth in organisational participation and impact of RAPs, to the Voices for Reconciliation choirs, there is an incredibly strong thread of collective leadership and mobilisation – something that’s dear to our hearts at Leadership Victoria.

National Reconciliation Week Resources and Events
A definition of leadership we abide by is that leaders mobilise others to make progress in complex times, so that people can thrive. This NRW, please join us in wholeheartedly championing Reconciliation in your own organisation and context, and make a commitment to keep working for shared progress on what matters.
There are many ways to get involved in National Reconciliation Week. Every year workplaces, schools, early learning services, community groups, reconciliation groups, and people right across the country host a whole range of activities and events to assist in learning about our shared history, culture and how we can collectively work towards Reconciliation.
