Alumni Program

An outline of upcoming curated events for the LV Alumni network of over 7,000 leaders, including 1,400 Williamson, Folio and ExperienceBank Fellows, formed over 35 years of diverse and impactful leadership programs.

Overview

We aim to continue to inspire, mobilise and support our Alumni long after the program finishes, towards our vision of an inclusive, equitable, sustainable society.

Our Alumni Program is still experimental and developing, but we hope it continues the LV experience of learning, growing, connecting and contributing. It has three aspects:

  1. Contribution to Community – to support Alumni to boost contributions to strengthening communities and tackling complex and systemic problems.
  2. Leadership Learning – to provide opportunities for Alumni to refresh and continue leadership learning.
  3.  Alumni Connection – to create events and experiences that connect diverse Alumni in meaningful and enjoyable ways.

We have also forged partnerships with organisations such as the Melbourne Forum, to create even more opportunities for our Alumni.

Thank you to the many Alumni who have ‘taken the call’ to contribute to LV by speaking at programs and events; contributing to the LV and LVF Boards, and Advisory Committees; and providing technical expertise on areas from events to philanthropy to contract T&Cs! If you would like to help in some way, please email alumni@leadershipvictoria.org.

Webinar: Executor Essentials; What You Need To Know

Tuesday, September 2, 5:30PM - 6:30PM

Recent research from JB Were reveals a noticeable gap in charitable giving: while Australians hold an estimated $150 billion in estate assets each year, only 6.5% of wills include a gift to charity and only 1% are actually fulfilled.

As Leadership Victoria Alumni, many of you may one day be called on to serve as an executor for a loved one’s or community member’s estate. What does that really involve and how can it be done well?

Join us for a thoughtful and practical webinar exploring the responsibilities of being an executor, the importance of having a will, and how to honour charitable bequests. We’ll also reflect on JB Were’s findings and what they mean for communities and philanthropy.

Featuring Ben Rodgers (WCLP '22), EO of Inner North Community Foundation and Board Member of Community Foundations Australia, who will share valuable insights and lessons from the “Leave a Legacy, Not a Mess” campaign, a legal expert in wills and estates (TBA), and Rikki Andrews (WCLP ’15), Collective Giving Advocate and LVF Board Member. Moderated by Katherine Ellis (WCLP '07), CEO of Leadership Victoria.

Ideas in Development

Stay tuned for more information, and please email alumni@leadershipvictoria.org if you have other ideas or can provide sponsorship or support to help make these things possible.
