Our Vision & Purpose
Our Vision for an Inclusive, Equitable and Sustainable Society
Leadership Victoria (LV) is the pre-eminent leadership organisation in Victoria, and has been delivering unique programs for over 30 years.
Our vision is for an inclusive, equitable and sustainable society, and our purpose is to develop, connect and inspire diverse leaders across all sectors to strengthen communities and tackle society’s complex and systemic problems.
We bring together diverse perspectives, life experiences, backgrounds and opinions, build the capacity of leaders as they share, collaborate and learn in a crucible environment, and create a trusted, enduring peer connection and a strong commitment to community.
Graduates of our flagship Williamson Community Leadership Program and our open enrolment short course programs are in key leadership roles across Victoria and beyond.
Leadership Victoria also partners with many business, government and community organisations to co-design and deliver customised programs for leaders at all levels, supporting organisational and systemic transformation.
We are driven by our values of courage, integrity, curiosity and respect.
LV is an independent, not-for-profit organisation registered as a charity with the ACNC.

Our Structure and Support
Leadership Victoria is an independent, not-for-profit organisation, registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), and as a recognised social enterprise with Social Traders.
We have a parallel organisation, the LV Foundation, which is also registered as a charity with the ACNC and has DGR1 status, so can accept philanthropic grants and tax-deductible donations.
Both legal entities are governed by volunteer Boards of Directors, most of whom are LV Alumni. Leadership Victoria’s Chair is Christine Nixon, AO, APM, and our Patron is Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, Governor of Victoria.
Leadership Victoria’s work is funded via a combination of fee-for-service social enterprise and program partnerships with a range of government, philanthropic and social sector organisations.
Philanthropic grants and individual donations through the LV Foundation support scholarships for leaders from, or working with, marginalised and disadvantaged communities. This currently includes three scholarship sub-funds – for First Nations leaders, for CALD women leaders, and for sustainability sector leaders – initiated by LV Alumni.
LV embraces partnerships with governments, philanthropic and private sector organisations with an interest in purpose-driven leadership for an inclusive, equitable and sustainable world. We are particularly interested in opportunities to collaborate on leadership programs for specific marginalised cohorts, and Alumni-led projects to strengthen communities and tackle society’s complex and systemic problems.
