Background information
L2R Next Gen (L2R) is a grassroots not-for-profit organisation that provides opportunities for young people to participate in free weekly hip hop dance workshops in Melbourne’s West including young people from culturally and linguistically diverse, newly arrived and at-risk communities. Established in 2009, L2R has provided countless opportunities for newly arrived and disadvantaged young people to participate in free dance workshops held in Melbourne’s West. In January 2015 L2R was recognised by the Ministry of Arts Australia and was added to the Register of Cultural Organisations (RoCO) and endorsed with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. L2R’s purpose is to advance arts and culture, contributing to the nation’s vibrant cultural life.?

Mission
To promote social cohesion, well-being and community through the delivery of free dance workshops for disadvantaged and at risk young people living in Melbourne’s West.

Vision
There is one language we can all speak... DANCE!

L2R is seeking to fill the board position of Chair to lead us into the next stage of growth and development.

Board Membership

Why are you seeking a Board/Committee membership?
L2R is excited to enter into our fourth year of operations, growing from a small community group into a professional arts and culture charity endorsed with DGR and TCC. Until now we have operated without a Chair (not ideal we know) but the time has come to fill this position with an inspiring, enthusiastic leader who is also known for being a legend. We are seeking a chair who is willing to contribute skills and knowledge in the following areas: - Assist with daily operations, working alongside the CEO - Provide mentoring to the CEO - Contribute to building sustainability and strategic direction of the organisation. Don’t worry we understand that you have a life but we want someone with a pep in their step and some hip to their hop! Are we asking too much??
