3.    Is there a fee?

There is no fee. The Benefits of the Board Seminar is free to attend. However, places are limited so people do need to register to attend.

4.    Will access support be provided?

Yes. Access and support to enable your full participation is available.  You need to let us know what support you require when you register for the Seminar.

5.    What topics will be covered in the benefits of the Board Seminar?

The Seminar will provide introductory information about:

  • How being a board members makes an important contribution to organisations and the community
  • How becoming a board member can help give you valuable experience and personal and professional development
  • The skills and capability that are needed to be a board member
  • The obligations and responsibilities of being a board member
  • The leadership needed by board members to ensure good governance, open communication and sound decision making
  • Pathways for further board skills development; and to apply for board roles

6.    Do I need to attend the Benefits of the Board Seminar before applying for the Foundations of Board Leadership and Mentoring Program?

No, you do not need to attend the Benefits of the Board Seminar before applying for the Foundations of Board Leadership and Mentoring Program.

7.    Can I register for the Benefits of the Board Seminar and apply for the Board Leadership and Mentoring Program?

Yes, you can register for the Benefits of the Board Seminar (if there are places still available) and apply for the Foundations of Board Leadership and Mentoring Program.

8.    How do I register?

You need to register online here 

Registrations close Monday 18th March 2019 (or when fully booked) 

9.    Will everyone who registers for the Benefits of the Board Seminar be accepted? 

Registrations will be accepted for the first 30 people who identify as having a disability and are interested in learning more about being on a board.

10.   Do I need to attend the Benefits of the Board Seminar before applying for the Foundations of Board Leadership and Mentoring Program?

No, you do not need to attend the Benefits of the Board Seminar before applying for the Foundations of Board Leadership and Mentoring Program.
