Tackling the big issues

21 November 2013

Leadership Victoria were privileged to host Marty Linsky from Harvard University for a week in November.

Marty worked with over 300 people in 12 events, including three full days of Adaptive Leadership symposia investigating some of the most pressing issues currently facing Victoria and Australia. During his 14-hour days he sadly he didn't get much of an opportunity to see Melbourne!

The first day explored the model of Adaptive Leadership, what it is and how to use it to overcome specific issues.

Day two tackled the issues associated with the implementation of the NDIS (previously DisabilityCare). Participants were from Government, disability organisations, carers and some with disabilities themselves. The discussion was lively, and at times challenging, and an impactful discussion paper is being produced on the key issues.

Day three was run in conjunction with The 100% Project and looked at the issue of the lack of Gender Equality in today's corporates.

Whilst it was an exhausting schedule, Marty was able to spend time with each of the participants and spent time looking at their key issues.
