Women and Leadership: Building Empowerment

15 April 2013

LV were proud to have the opportunity to share some thoughts and insights with a delegation from Myanmar last month.

The Group spent the day with Josie Daw and Tony Matthews who took them on a journey of self discovery of personal ethics, vision and influence. Mentoring became a key learning for the group who left understanding the importance of choosing and maintaining good mentors.

Guest speaker, Mary Crooks, Executive Director of the Victorian Women’s Trust shared her model of engagement and thoughts on how to make real and lasting differences for women. During this informal session the attendees were able to ask her for advice about their own specific issues and solutions to overcome them. The afternoon was spent visiting The Social Studio, a social enterprise based in Melbourne that champions the values of diversity, community, education, environmentally sustainable design and ethical business practices.
