Board Orientation Series
2012 Dates – Program 1: 18 April & 16 May; Program 2: 5 September & 10October
Leading Not-For-Profit Boards
Leadership Victoria’s (LV) Board Orientation Series (BOS) takes a holistic approach to being a Board Director/Member.
Involving two face-to-face workshops, the new BOS identifies there are more than just technical skills required to be an effective board member. Workshop One covers the sometimes hard to identify ‘soft’ skills that make a difference at the boardroom table and Workshop Two concentrates on the technical skills required for effective governance including financial, legal and risk skills.
In addition to these workshops, participants will have access to a comprehensive range of assessment tools, case studies and information sheets via the LV web site. Available prior to the workshops, participants are encouraged to access these resources to ensure they have an understanding of the content to be covered and to maximize the face to face sessions.
